How it works

From competitor URL to briefing in three steps

Set it up once. PageTrail reads the pages so you don't have to.

  1. Look back 12 months, free

Paste any competitor page. You get its change history from the web archive and a permanent public page you can share, like /history/linear.app/pricing.

  2. Keep watching what matters

Add competitors and PageTrail checks their pricing, changelog, feature and careers pages. We filter out the noise and keep what would change your plans.

  3. You get the briefing

What changed, why it matters and how big a deal it is, in a digest by email, with instant Slack alerts for big moves.

Signal, not noise

Most page changes don't matter. We only send the ones that do.

Change monitors ping you when a cookie banner moves. PageTrail reads every diff and only reports what a founder or growth lead would act on.

What you hear about

  • Price and plan changes
  • New limits and add-ons
  • Launches and features leaving beta
  • New taglines and target audiences
  • Hiring pushes by team

What we filter out

  • Cookie banners and popups
  • Rotating testimonials
  • Counters and dates
  • Reordered sections
  • Typo fixes and A/B layout churn

Example briefing

A briefing you can read in 30 seconds

This is what 12 months of linear.app/pricing looks like after PageTrail reads it. Real changes, explained.

  • What changed

One plain-English headline per change: prices, plans, launches, messaging, roles.

  • Why it matters

The strategic read for your team, not a highlighted wall of HTML.

  • Ranked by impact

Pricing moves and major launches first. Minor tweaks stay quiet.

  • Noise removed

Cookie banners, rotating testimonials, counters and reshuffles are ignored.

Summary

Linear is pushing upmarket: both paid tiers got more expensive, the AI agent graduated from beta alongside a new Code Intelligence feature, and the customer-count claim jumped 60%. Expect them to lean on AI as the justification for higher seat prices.

  1. ProductNotable

Linear Agent leaves beta; Code Intelligence added

The AI agent is now a generally available plan feature, and a new Code Intelligence capability appears on the plan grid. AI is becoming part of the core offer, not an add-on.

  2. PositioningMinor

Social proof raised from 25,000 to 40,000 companies

The headline customer count grew 60%. Useful context if you compete on momentum or adoption.

  3. PricingHigh impact

Basic raised from $8 to $10, Business from $14 to $16 per user/month

A 14–25% increase on both paid tiers. Their entry price is now further from yours, which gives you room to win price-sensitive teams.

Why PageTrail

Between raw diffs and a $20k contract

Change monitors tell you a page moved. Enterprise CI platforms need a sales cycle and an analyst. PageTrail gives small SaaS teams the analyst's read without either.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How does the Page Time Machine see 12 months back?

It compares archived snapshots of the page from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine with the live page, then keeps only the changes that matter: a language model summarizes the detected differences, it doesn't generate content. If a page was rarely archived, the history is thinner, and we tell you so.

What counts as a meaningful change?

Pricing, plans and limits, features and launches, positioning and messaging, hiring signals and promotions. We ignore dates, counters, cookie banners, rotating testimonials, reordered sections and typo fixes.

Which competitor pages should I track?

Start with pricing, changelog, features and careers. Pricing shows packaging strategy, the changelog shows velocity, feature pages show positioning and careers pages show where they're investing next.

Do you access anything that isn't public?

No. PageTrail only reads public pages that anyone can open in a browser. No logins, no gated content.

How is this different from a website change monitor?

Change monitors alert you every time a page moves and leave the interpretation to you. PageTrail rolls changes across all your competitors into one briefing that says what changed and why it matters, and it starts with 12 months of history instead of an empty feed.

Can I get alerts in Slack?

Yes. Pro and Agency plans check every 6 hours and send instant email and Slack alerts for high-impact changes, on top of the regular digest.

Who is PageTrail for?

Seed to Series A B2B SaaS teams without a dedicated product marketer: founders and growth leads who need to know when a competitor changes pricing or ships something big. Agencies and fractional PMMs use the Agency plan to send white-label competitor reports to clients.

Can I see a competitor's pricing history without signing up?

Yes. Every page anyone looks up gets a public, permanent history page, like /history/linear.app/pricing. Share it with your team or link to it; no account needed.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan needs no card, and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel paid plans at any time.
